Ahlam Shibli (born 1970)
Ahlam Shibli (born to a Palestinian Bedouin family in Israel) is a photographer who records, as she puts it, everyday life amid the ongoing infringements of Palestinian land rights. The artist is currently concentrating on an analysis of phenomena such as scattered identity, feelings of homelessness, and nomadism in various parts of the world. Shibli’s work deliberately rejects the visual drama of reportage photography.
