Jacek Sempoliński (1927–2012)
Jacek Sempoliński was a painter and graphic artist, but also an important tutor, critic, and essayist. For many years, he was a professor at Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He began to paint during the Polish postwar colourism period, amid the ethos of the Arsenal '55 generation, but his later series of paintings from the 1980s, such as "Golgotha" or "Wisła", are particulary influential nowadays.
